A typeface in two styles by
Regina Black has heavy letterforms that are influenced in equal parts by the elegant design from the early 1900’s and the chunky, friendly typefaces popularized in the 1970’s. Friendly, meet funky.
Pay-what-you-want for a Personal Use License of Regina Black. This includes the full character set, with borders, shapes, catchwords, and support for over 20 languages, in two styles.
The first 50 customers who purchase a Commercial License will receive an iron-on flocked-letter type specimen! Use it to make some fuzzy shirts like shown below, or keep it as is.
Many thanks all our friends at Lost Type, and to Riley Cran, James Edmondson, and David Wolske for their expert advice in the production of this typeface. Additional thanks to PSYOPS for their help with mastering.
The Regina Black mini-site was designed in partnership with Kenneth Ormandy, who also handled all development and programming like a champion. Text is set in a sans-serif typeface currently in development by Charles&Thorn.
Charles&Thorn is the design and illustration studio of Phaedra Charles and Kelly Thorn. They first met as designers at Louise Fili Ltd, and have been collaborating ever since. Regina Black is Charles&Thorn’s debut typeface.
